Meisal connects qualified professionals to paid work improving AI systems. We partner with organisations building and evaluating AI, and we bring in experts whose professional judgment those systems need.

Qualified, practising professionals — clinicians, solicitors and barristers, chartered engineers, accountants and auditors, academic researchers, and native-language specialists. Most work with us part-time alongside an existing career.

Teams building and evaluating AI systems that are expected to perform professional work. We do not name clients publicly, because most of this work is covered by confidentiality agreements. You are always told what a project involves before you accept it.

Clients pay us for expert work. We pay you an agreed hourly rate for the hours you work, and we keep the difference. Your rate never depends on what the client is charged, and it is fixed in writing before you start.

Anyone with a recognised professional qualification and real working experience in their field, who is legally able to work as an independent contractor where they live, and who can write clearly in English.

It varies by field: a medical or legal qualification plus practice experience; a degree and professional experience in engineering or finance; a doctorate or equivalent research record for research roles; native fluency plus professional writing experience for language roles. No AI or machine-learning background is needed for any of them.

You apply once with your qualifications and experience. If your background fits current work, we verify your identity, agree a rate, and match you to a project. The whole process is set out step by step on the How it works page.

We aim to review applications within 48 hours.

Usually because we had no live project in your field at the time, or because the experience described did not match the level a project needed. It is not a permanent judgement — you are welcome to apply again when your circumstances change or after six months.

Three things, mostly. Writing realistic problems from your own working experience; reading what an AI system produced and judging whether it would stand up professionally; and writing down precisely why an answer fails. It is reading and writing, done to a professional standard.

Most projects ask for between 5 and 20 hours a week. You agree the range before you start and you are never obliged to take more.

No ongoing minimum. Individual projects may ask for a minimum weekly commitment while they run, and that is stated before you accept.

Typically four to twelve weeks. Some are a single week of focused work; others extend if the client continues the programme and you want to stay on.

Yes, and most people do. The work is asynchronous with deadlines rather than fixed hours. Please check your existing employment contract for anything covering outside work.

Rates depend on your field and the project. Current ranges: medicine $90–$150/hr, research $85–$150/hr, finance $80–$120/hr, law $75–$120/hr, engineering $70–$110/hr, language specialists $50–$70/hr. The rate for a project is agreed in writing before you start any work.

Every two weeks, by bank transfer, for work approved in that period. You will see approved hours before each payment run.

We pay by bank transfer in most countries where we can complete standard compliance checks. Tell us where you are based when you apply and we will confirm before you start any work.

You work with us as an independent contractor, so you are responsible for your own tax and any social contributions where you live. We do not deduct tax at source. We provide a record of everything paid to you.

You need to be legally permitted to work as a self-employed contractor in the country where you live. We do not sponsor visas.

Only if your visa permits self-employed or freelance work. Many student and work visas restrict this. Please check your own conditions — we cannot advise on your immigration status.

Doctoral researchers are welcome and often a strong fit. For most other roles we need completed qualifications and practice experience, so undergraduate students are usually too early.

Yes. You can say you work with Meisal as a contract domain expert. You cannot name clients or describe specific project content.

Accounts are suspended for a specific reason — most often work that is not your own, a qualification we could not verify, or a breach of confidentiality. We tell you the reason, and you can reply and ask us to look again. Work already approved is always paid.

Submissions are reviewed within about five working days and you will see the outcome on your account. If a fortnight passes with no confirmation, email us and we will chase it — that is not normal and we want to know.
